CASE STUDY
More than you would expect, Audio Gearbox is a design exercise. At its core its a guitar case and it's apex its a re-creation of creative music and audio tools. We redesign everything to be more useful and scalable.
By design Audio Gearbox was built with the musician in mind by utilizing a user installable upgrade path for future enhancements and your needs change. This in turn extends the lifespan of the case and makes it much more sustainable.

BODY
WORK
The initial launch will offer a Aluminum outer shell that is both lightweight, durable and built to meet the needs of any musician.
Carbon Fiber shown here is the optimal material in terms of weight and performance and will be available in Stage 2 as a special order.
A Poly Carbonate SMC mix is road mapped and a more affordable solution for the everyday musician.

Custom nameplate tag is available as an option. Never forget what guitar is in what case.
MOUNTING INTENTIONS
Audio Gearbox is meant to protect your instruments at all times not just when it's in the case.
The wall mount coupling points are rated at 42 lb each (19.05 kg) shear strength, providing you with the assurance that your case will be securely and safely mounted.
Additionally, our side mount points are designed to be used with the optional accessory hooks, to maximize your work space and work flow.

POWER
UNIT
We have outlined for both USB A and USB C to make sure you have access to the power you need. Units will be either USB A or USB C.
Technically it is a USB Hub, however the main use is to power the optional LED lights.
Having a modular mindset the power grid bezel can be changed if a different connection standard becomes available.

When standing upright the top tray is a great place to hold your picks, slides or capos.
STAND
BY ME
The aluminum integrated base stand balancer is magnetically held in place and uses a uses a push latch to lock in in place and out of the way. The base stand is removable for the use with standard PA / DJ speaker stands. This also allows for future upgrades and optional accessories.

The mounting points on the bottom adjust for leveling on uneven surfaces.

THE GAP
By design Audio Gearbox was engineered to give you the best performance in all situations. The integrated acoustic foam edges expand and contract depending on the angle to close the gap in between the edges of the cases.

The included magnetic spacing brackets allow you to easily adjust the size of the enclosure for easy setup.
FIXER
UPPER
Audio Gearbox give you some of the best tools for the job when you need them. Remove the top case and you can clean and polish the guitar on a flat surface.
The padded neck positioning mount articulates up and give you a perfect workbench for setups and other maintenance and will not scratch the neck.

BLINDED BY
THE LIGHT
The optional USB LED lights keep your guitars well lit in display mode and give you plenty of light when you are using Audio Gearbox as vocal surround.

At 6500 K they are super bright and stay cool enough to not bake you or the instrument.

The lights swivel 180 degrees so you can adjust the angle as needed and flip around to use in a marquee / banner configuration.

STANDOFFISH
The 90 degree wall mount coupling system comes with each Audio Gearbox case along with the mounting hardware and an installation template. This allows you to mount your case to the wall. You can option for additional mounting set at -5 or +5 degrees to be use for for critical situations where you do not want parallel angles.
Additional couplers can be optioned to allow you to adjust the system heights and configurations as well and using the optional accessory hooks to store cables and headphones.

The mounting system is unique is the sense that you can use the couplers for many different uses beyond Audio Gearbox and connecting future accessories.

BRACKETOLOGY
Included with Audio Gearbox cases are magnetic alignment brackets that are specifically engineered to allow you to set the case sections at 22.5, 45 or 90 degree angles depending on your desired configuration.

Future brackets and alignment tools are in the works to make sure Audio Gearbox expands and works as your needs and productions incresease.
